NLC to meet striking State Attorneys

The National Labour Commission will meet striking State Attorneys on Wednesday in a bid to address their concerns.

The State Attorneys have been on a strike for over a week in protest of what they describe as deplorable working conditions.

They are demanding salary increment and the harmonization of their salaries and benefits to that of circuit court judges as stated in the Legal Services Act.

Attempts by the chief of staff, the Legal Service Board, parliament and the presidency have all failed to get the state attorneys back to work.

The Executive Secretary of the National Labour Commission Dr. Bernice Welbeck, in an interview with Starr News said she is hopeful Wednesday’s meeting will be fruitful.
