Court places injunction on Parliamentary Director of Dev’t position

An Accra High Court has placed an interlocutory injunction on an advertisement for the position of a Director of Development put up by the Parliamentary Service.

The current Director of Development at the Service, Kofi Safo Duodu, filed the injunction.

The suit at the court is to restrain the Parliamentary Service from going ahead with the publication of the advertisement pending the hearing and determination of the suit.

In an affidavit in support of the motion, Mr. Duodu stated that his appointment has not yet been terminated and therefore finds the action by the Parliamentary Service Board as a calculated attempt to find a subtle way of unlawfully removing him from office.

According to him, when the advertisement was put out, he wrote to the clerk of parliament but no action was taken.

Mr. Duodu is also seeking an interlocutory injunction on any action by the service that could have an adverse effect on his interest until the hearing of the substantive case.
