Unicorn Air gets license to commence operation

Businesses and individuals in Ghana can now access the services of chartered flights for domestic and International trips.

This comes after the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority has awarded Unicorn Air Chartered Services the certificate to operate in the country.

The move is part of measure to liberalize the aviation sector.

According to the Managing Director of Unicorn Air Philip Ayisa, they are ready to commence operation with their HS-125 800XP aircraft.

Unicorn Air is a subsidiary of UHI Holdings.

The company has also entered into a strategic partnership with some foreign aircrafts companies to supply individuals wanting to own one.

“What we are basically doing is pure executive charter business so it is not scheduled. The Aircraft…has eight executive seats.

“Because it is charter, it is much easier for clients and businessmen. You don’t have to come to the airport for two, three hours before you go. You just have to come between five, ten minutes then you are gone,” Mr. Ayisa told Starr Business.

The company has also partnered some airline operators to offer chartered flight services to businesses.

The company also revealed that it has planned to purchase five aircrafts to boost their operations by the end of the year.

On his part, the acting director general of GCAA, Mr. Abdulai Alhassan entreated Unicorn Air Chartered Flight Services to prioritize customers and never undervalue safety in their operations.
