Older brother Andre Ayew led the way as Black stars players took to social media to congratulate Jordan Ayew on join premier league side Aston Villa. Ayew signed a 5-year deal to join Tim Sherwood’s side after days of controversy with former club Lorient in which Ayew threatened to never play for the club again if he was not allowed to leave.
Jordan joins his older brother Andre in the premier league, who signed for Swansea City last month. That brings to five, the number of Ghanaian players in the premier league. Jordan joins Jeffrey Schlupp, Kwesi Appiah, Christian Atsu and his brother Andre Ayew as the Black Stars players playing their trade in the English top flight. And Dede was quick to take to instagram to offer congratulatory messages to the youngest Ayew.
“Congrats to my little brother @jordanayew9!! Proud of you! New club, new challenge….One love…#teamayew #astonvilla,” Andre Ayew posted underneath a picture of Jordan wearing an Aston Villa jersey.
Rahim Ayew also took to instagram to show pride in his younger brother’s move.
“Congrats bro. I’m happy for you and very proud @jordanayew9 @jordanayew10 @imaniayew,” Rahim posted, copying all of his other siblings, namely Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Imani Ayew.
Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey was quick to add that he will now support Aston Villa in the premier league.
“Another team to cheer for in the #EPL! Congratz bro #jordanayew,” Kwarasey posted beneath a picture of Jordan.
Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, who is reported to have been diagnosed of malaria while with his team in Russia, was not left out of the fan as he took to instagram to post a very jovial congratulatory message.
“Kwasia!!!Congrats bro @jordanayew9. Good luck @jordanayew9,” Wakaso posted on instagram after the signing was announced.
