GHOSPA strike illegal; they must call it off – Fair Wages

Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has described as illegal and unwarranted the strike by government Pharmacists and urges them to resume work and submit to negotiations with immediate effect.

The government pharmacists have been on strike since Monday.

The pharmacists are blaming the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission for failing to properly address their concerns relating to their migration into the Single Spine Salary Structure.

But the communication director of the fair wages, Earl Ankrah in an interview withStarr News said the pharmacists have no case.

Mr. Ankrah added that the issues being raised by the Pharmacists have already been sorted out and wonders why the Pharmacists are on strike.

“All the three issues that GHOSPA is talking about to the best of my knowledge, those things have been handled…according to the labour acts, you cannot negotiate while you are on strike if they really want to deal with issues they will first have to call off the strike”.
