Kasoa residents beat war drums over robbery attacks

Residents of Kasoa Ota City have threatened to kill more suspected robbers as they rue under a self-imposed curfew.

The terrified locals have been compelled to close their shops, churches and other businesses and retire to bed as early as 7pm.

These are not residents of Bawku or Tuabodom where clashes have forced them to be indoors early, but Ota City a suburb of Kasoa in the Central region. The spate of armed robbery attacks in the community has compelled residents to get indoors earlier than usual.

The residents on Monday burnt a suspected robber to death and have threatened to do more to send a strong and clear message to the robbers.

Starr News’ Ibrahim Alhassan visited the community and reports the residents’ resolve to retire to bed early has not stopped the robbers from attacking them. The residents blame the spate of robbery attacks on the ineffectiveness of the police in the area.
