TC Energy’s $4b power deal with ECG hits snag

Government’s hope of ending the current energy crisis is under threat as shareholders of a private company in the process of producing some 1,000 megawatts of energy fight over ownership.

TC Energy signed an agreement with the Electricity Company of Ghana to produce power from tidal waves.

The project was to cost some $15 million when completed and will then provide clean energy to 19 million Ghanaians.

But Starr News has intercepted a petition from one of the shareholders seeking to halt the project.

According to the document, Kwabena Osei Manu of Dextin Compan limited, partners in the joint project, is suing his fellows for shortchanging him.

He is asking the court to among other things, permanently freeze the project and instruct his partners to refund his investment to him.
