We are ready to co-operate over judicial bribery scandal – GBA

The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has reiterated that it will not be coerced into saying anything that will be prejudicial of any person indicted in the famous judicial bribery scandal.

According to Public Relations Officer of the GBA on the Ultimate Breakfast with Prince Minkah, the GBA is ready to co-operate with the appropriate quarters to handle the matter.

“Because of the weight of the Ghana Bar Association and the premium on what we say we’ve been extremely cautious on this matter… We will respect whatever the investigative bodies are doing.
We will ensure that whatever they are supposed to do and whatever help we are supposed to put in, we will put and wait for the recommendation that will come out”, Lawyer Tony Forson remarked.

The Judicial Service Council has suspended some 22 circuit judges, which takes effect today.

He revealed this at the Annual Conference of the Ghana Bar Association in Kumasi.

The programme is under the theme “Rule of Law, Access to Justice and Sustainable Development, the Panacea to Political and Economic Progress of a nation state”.

Former President John Agyekum Kufour will give the keynote address with the Chief Justice and Attorney General in attendance.
