The battle between one of Ghana’s oldest Parliamentarians Enoch Teye Mensah and his close contender and Presidential Staffer Sam Nartey George is becoming murkier by the day.
The two have been tipped as front runners for the Ningo-Prampram seat on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) during its primary on November 7 but confusion has rocked their camps with the incumbent throwing tantrums at the latter
E.T has revealed he will disgrace Sam George who has also promised to bring the reelection bid of the incumbent to halt by close of polls on November 7.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports under the Rawlings regime who has always tipped himself as the best thing to have happened to the constituency stated George comes nowhere close to his political experience and contribution to Ghana’s democracy.
“He doesn’t come close at all,” the veteran lawmaker said at a campaign event in his constituency over the weekend.
He said he has gone through the mill as a constituency organiser, national vice chairman, founder of the EGLE party and played an instrumental role in founding the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
After flaunting his experience, Mensah revealed he knows the weak point of his “boy” and will deal with him and retain the seat for the ruling party.
“This boy was my boy. I’ll crash Sam George and defeat him. The battle is ours and we’ll win come election 2016,” the former Works and Housing Minister told Accra-based Citi FM later in an interview.
