“I Won’t Sanction Payments Outside Budget”-Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama says he will henceforth cease to sanction payments outside the budge as part of efforts to strengthen his fiscal discipline in the country.

According to him, departments, ministries and agencies that have claims to make should ensure that these monies are incorporated in the national budget else they will have their requests declined.

“I will no longer sanction any payments not included in the budget”. He remarked.

Speaking at Garden City Radio as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region, The President observed that the lack of financial discipline is partly to blame for the current economic challenges and will ensure that that this negative trend is reversed.

Most of the claims in his view also accounted for the dislocation of the country’s budget resulting in overspending by some sectors.
