Current President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei Kuffour popularly called Obour has had his term of office extended by another 4 years at the just ended congress of the union in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
The musician showed his supremacy over his other two contenders polling 88 votes whereas Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Appiah Dankwa, a.k.a Appietus managed with 22 and 18 respectively.
The two losers have been critical of the leadership style of Obour accusing him of not working in the interest of the union and therefore put themselves up to challenge him.
The event came off at Oyinka Hotel in the Eastern Region and was attended by several personalities in the creative and arts industry in Ghana.
The congress was held from October 29 and ended yesterday. The 6th Quadrennial congress was under the theme: Developing The Music Industry, The Role Of An Effective Union.
