Don’t Attack Integrity of “Mugabe” MPs – Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, novice aspirants seeking to end the parliamentary bids of incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) to conduct their campaigns with decorum.

He has advised them to tackle the problems and weaknesses of incumbent NDC Parliamentarians in a brotherly manner in order not to taint the integrity of the political party and President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, any aspirant who tackles the problems of any incumbent Member of Parliament to dent his/her integrity is either doing the bidding of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the others seeking to unseat the NDC government in 2016 .

“When our incumbent MPs have problems, let us tackle it in a brotherly manner but if you tackle it in a way that affects the integrity of the party and the president, the individual is doing the work of the NPP”, he observed.

Addressing party supporters at the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School as part of the president’s #Changinglives tour of the Upper East Region, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia bemoaned the constant attacks of incumbent MPs by their opponents noting that the situation is gradually putting the NDC in bad light.

He mentioned that new aspirants should tackle issues rather than attacking the personality and integrity of the incumbents stating that if they win their actions will come haunting them in the future.

“You should not attack the integrity of the incumbent Members of Parliament because for now, you do not have a record which people can use against you but if you win, four years is too short and what you did (attacking the incumbent) will come to haunt you”, he revealed

The General Secretary noted that the country’s biggest opposition party, NPP, has three electioneering principles which are lies, boycotts and demonstrations which is are its three cardinal weapons it plans to use for the 2016 elections.

He cited the “Kumepreko” “Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA)” among others as demonstrations the NPP attempted using to distract the NDC but observed that all their efforts have proven futile.

The NDC scribe indicated that the NPP voted Freddy Blay as 1st Vice Chairman of the party because he has a lying machinery the Daily Guide newspaper , but the machinery is now used against them (NPP) internally.

He called on NDC members to advice their friends in the opposition NPP to bring an end to their internal wrangling or risk the chance of not tasting power for a very long time.
