A 35-year old motorist only identified as Kojo Gyamfi was on Wednesday evening crashed to death by a heavy duty truck carrying Bauxite at Diaso near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region.
The farmer who was returning from his farm met his untimely death when the bauxite truck travelling to Takoradi ran over him.
According to an eye witness Gilbert Bediako, the incident brought all activities at Diaso to a halt as people were afraid to go about their normal duties for fear of being faced with a similar misfortunate.
‘The motor rider was riding from his farm to Diaso Township when the incident occurred, he didn’t notice the truck coming his way,’ he disclosed.
He added that the deceased body was de-capacitated beyond recognition as his legs, head, thighs and arms were found lying apart on the road.
The police took the body to the Diaso hospital morgue and have mounted a search for the runaway driver of the truck who has gone into hiding.
The deceased left behind three children and a wife.
