All Nations University student didn’t fall to his death – Management

Management of the All Nations University in Koforidua, Eastern Regional capital, has denied that its deceased student fell to death from one of the hostels in the school.

There were media reports that the student identified as Darlington on Wednesday morning fell from the last floor of one of the school’s hostel dying instantly.

The unfortunate incident threw the school into a state of mourning and shock. It is not clear the circumstance that led to the deceased, an oil and gas student losing his life in that tragic manner.

The incident was subsequently reported to the police, who have begun investigations.

This is the second time such a tragedy has occurred in the university after one Benedicta Nana Ama Esi Adu, a 22-year-old female student, died after falling from a four-storey building in March this year.

She fell during a Christian fellowship following a day of prayers and fasting.

However speaking to Kasapa News, the Public Relations Officer of the All Nations University, Owusu Acheamfour cautioned the public to desist from proffering a cause of the student’s death, when the police report has not explicitly confirmed that yet.

“We cannot conclude that he fell to death, our security men who were on patrol chanced upon him lying motionlessly and immediately informed the school authorities. The deceased was rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed dead. We are waiting for the post mortem report which will give a clear sense of what the cause of death could have been.”

He added: “We’re really shattered that we have lost Valentine, he was writing exams when the unfortunate incident happened. His demise has affected the mood in the school but we’re encouraging the students to put the issue behind them and sit for their exams’.
