Thirty-Eight (38) officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) are expected to be questioned by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) ultimate1069.com has gathered.
The BNI is investigating the NHIS over alleged fraudulent payment to some health service providers across the country for no work done plunging the scheme into huge debts.
According to snippets of information gathered, the BNI is on the heels of these officials who were alleged to have sanctioned the said fictitious payments to these service providers despite the fact they were undeserving of the huge amounts paid to them.
A Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NHIS Mr. Sylvester Mensah was last week held up by officials of the BNI for several hours when he tendered himself on New Year day.
Armed officials of the BNI numbering 7, had earlier gone to the residence of the former CEO to ostensibly arrest but did not meet him at home.
They were alleged to have heckled his security man only identified as Baba but his supporters with the La-Dadekotopon constituency are accusing the BNI of witch-hunting the former legislator.
