Fire guts poultry farms in Kwahu Asesieso

Fire this dawn 2:am razed down various poultry farms and plantations including that of the best farmer at Kwahu Asereso in the Eastern Region.

According to an eye witness, Owusu Ofori, all efforts to reach the Ghana Fire Service to the scene proved futile as they tried to quench the fire.

Mr. Ofori explained that efforts by local men to bring the inferno down did not materialised as the fire continues to gut cassava and other farm plantations.

‘All the live birds, cassava, plantain, yam have been burnt to ashes,’ he said.

He expressed worry that there is a transformer at Akosombo which supplies water to Akwapim and its environs might catch fire.

He indicated that it is not clear what might have caused the fire outbreak, saying there is a strong wind that has been blowing.

Speaking on Adom FM at 6:am he appealed to fire fighters to come to their rescue as there are houses around the burnt farms.
