Military poised to foster unity with civilians in Kumasi

The Commanding Officer in -Charge of Security at the 4th Infantry Battalion Camp in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region Lieutenant Colonel Fuseini Salifu has promised the Army’s commitment to deepen its relationship with civilians.

‘We want to foster good relationship with our civilian counterparts, in the military parlance we call it civil-military relationship, it’s a very cordial relationship as far as military in Ashanti Region is concerned  with our civilian counterparts, and we want to move it further to enhance the cordial relationship that we have by bringing them closer to us,’ he assured.

Lieutenant Colonel Salifu made this disclosure ahead of today  evening Friday 2016 West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) at 4th Infantry Battalion Camp in Kumasi.

According to him, the event is aimed at taking stock of activities carried out in 2015  by the unit.

‘The aim of this WASSA is for us first of all to make merry and also take stock of our activities for the past year 2015 and also plan ahead for the 2016 year,’ he indicated.

He added that the event will offer military personnel the opportunity to fraternize with civilians as well as their colleagues in other security service.

‘We have invited heads of organizations, departments, security services, institutions within Ashanti Region to socialize with us,’ he stated.

Ultimate news’ Isaac Justice Bediako reports that military personnel who have excelled in their line of duties will be rewarded.

‘We have plans to reward some of our personnel who have distinguished themselves, dedicated their services to the unit and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as a whole, and Ashanti Region at large,’  Lieutentant Salifu said.
