Kumawood awards nominations: I feel proud about myself-Emelia Brobbey

The Kumawood Actress, Emelia Brobbey has expressed satisfaction that her countless  nominations in tonight Saturday Kumawood Akoben Film Festival Awards (KAFFA) make her better.

‘My nominations make me feel better and proud of myself after all am doing a good job,’ she gaily said.

Emelia who has been nominated for most favourite actress and best actress leading role is competing for the awards in these two categories with Nana Ama Mcbrown, Vivian Jill Lawrence, Rose Mensah ‘Kyeiwaa’ and Benedicta Gafah.

In best actress supporting role category, she is wrestling for the award with Grace Omaboe ‘Maame Dokono’, Christiana Awuni, Abena Agyeman and others.

Asked who she wishes to win the best actress leading role award on Ultimate E-Review hosted by Naa Klordey Odonkor, she explained that the competition is very tight.

‘Well I must confess the competition is pretty tight, I believe that all of us being nominated are bound to win, so I would say if I win, I deserve it 100%,, but if Vivian, or Nana Ama Mcbrown wins, Benedicta, Maame Serwaa, so far as we have been nominated we are all winners, I will be so glad if I receive the best actress award, I will be so happy,’  she said.

She indicated that in case she wins, this will not be the first time  of wining, saying in 2014 she won the best actress in leading role and won Twi English personality.

‘If I don’t win, I will not be disappointed, because day in and day out, we get new talents, new acts, new favourite, I believe in swimming in the industry, I don’t believe being on top or down, I got the chance to win sometime back, if I get the chance to win again, I will be glad, if somebody wins, I will be happy for the person, we have artistes who come seasonally, they come and they go, but for 13 good years I have been hanging in the industry and am not slow and am not hard, am always in the pool of movies,’ she intimated.

Asked who she would tip for the best actress if she does not win, she said ‘it will be difficult but I think Nana Ama Mcbrown , Kyeiwaa and Vivian Jill, all of the rest are god but that’s my opinion.

‘We should respect time, I expect 100% comportment, am praying the jury will be fair so that everybody will be happy to receive his/her award. Kumawood has come to stay and I hope the jury will be fair,’ she expressed hope.
