Kumasi’s Ambassador to the United States of America His Excellency Lieutenant. General Kojo Manu Danseabour has warned it will not be advisable for Ghanaians to travel to the United States within the blizzard.
This is according to a leaked tape on a satiric website purported to contain his voice.
At least 25 people have died in the US as the historic Storm Jonas continues to wreak havoc across the east coast with.
The blizzard has brought more than 2ft (60cm) of snow, causing 11 states to declare a state of emergency.
Heavy snow caused Washington DC to declare a “snow emergency”, closing its transport system over the weekend, and New York City banned all road travel, cancelled bus services and shut over ground parts of the subway.
Speaking on Odeniho FM, a US- based comedy radio station which reportedly belongs to him where he offered on Sunday to be the newscaster for the programme, he urged Ghanaians to reconsider their travels.
He explained the kind of hardships Ghanaians are going through in the iced cities of the States reiterating that most of them are offering to return home.
He emphasized that most of them are prepared to die in their home country than allow them to freeze death.
