Fire on Friday razed down section of the Boys’ dormitory of Oti Boateng Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region.
Properties belonging to the students such as mattresses, uniforms, books, chop boxes and monies were burnt.
A portion of the school canteen also got burnt as some of the kitchen utensils and food stuffs were lost.
It is unclear what caused the fire, however, fire fighters have arrived at the scene to control the inferno.
Many of the students blame the fire outbreak on electrical fault due to negligence on the part of school authorities.
In an interview with Ultimate news’ Kojo Ansah, the Deputy New Juabeng Municipal Fire Officer Adoi Amos Kaku-Kyi blamed the school authorities for failing to call the fire service personnel on time.
Meanwhile explosives such as acid and other substances at the laboratory closer to the dormitory have all been removed to a safer place.
Some of the students who were collapsed have been sent to the hospital.
