3 Workers of Tamale Airport in Court for Theft

A Tamale District Court presided over by Justice Anthony Assah has remanded four suspected thieves including three workers of the Tamale Airport Expansion Project into prison custody for stealing PVC pipes at a construction site.

The suspects who were arraigned before court on charges of conspiracy, stealing and deceit of a public officer include; Alhassan Abdulai, a private tricycle operator, Mr. Napari Musah 25 , Mr. Sule Alhassan 25, and Iddi Dana Yakubu all security officers stationed at the construction site of the Tamale airport.

All four allegedly connived to steal PVC pipes from Queiroz Galvao Construction Company Limited, a Brazilian construction company working on the Tamale airport upgrading project.

Mr. Abdulai according to police investigations bought the tricycle motor bike on high purchase from the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and has been using it for criminal activities at the construction site.

He was charged with stealing and deceit of public officer, contrary to Sections 124 and 25 of the Criminal Offences Act.

Thirty PVC pipes valued at GH ¢ 5,184 according to police were stolen in January this year alone by the four.

All four suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges and will reappear in court on February 4, 2016.
