Mr. Adamu Dasaana, the Wa West District Chief Executive (DCE) has lifted the flag of the district as he was among 30, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to receive the coveted Bombisco Multimedia awards for Excellence in Local Governance.
The DCE was distinguished among his colleagues in the region for his selfless contributions to the development of the area which is gradually catching up with others in the Upper West Region in terms of development.
The ceremony held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi at the weekend, also saw four regional ministers receiving the grand awards.
The awardees according to the organizers were selected in December 2015 after receiving responses from interviewees in the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country on various thematic areas.
Mr. Adamu Dasaana disclosed that it was worth noting that there are people out there monitoring his activities in the district and appreciating his contributions to the development of the area.
“I am humbled by this award. It is an indication that I can still do more to liberate my people in the district from the shackles of poverty”, he said.
He commended the Chiefs and People, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Mr. Joseph Yieleh Chireh and staff of the Wa West District assembly for playing diverse roles in pursuing the development agenda of the assembly.
“I owe the success to them and I think this award will further challenge us to do more for the development of our district which hitherto was lagging behind in terms of development”, he concluded.
