About forty (40) teachers drawn from various basic schools within the Savelugu-Nanton Municipality in the Northern Region have undergone a three-day Information and Communications Technology (ICT) refresher training at the premises of Savanna Signatures (SavSign).
The training was facilitated by Savanna Signatures under the Integration of ICT in Education Project (IIEP).
The Integration of ICT in Education Project funded by Educo is to address the low quality of education in the Northern and Volta Regions of Ghana.
The project is being implemented in ten schools aimed at integrating ICT into education.
Education project Officer at Savanna Signatures, Epen Simon said the Integration of ICT in Education Project is facilitating a shift from the conventional teaching methodology to a technological approach using ICT tools.
He added that the teachers are being trained to use the ICT to effectively deliver lessons the classrooms in their various schools. He further added that they will also be trained on basic computer maintenance.
Savanna Signatures with its partners provided beneficiary schools with ICT laboratories to help both teachers and students have a grasp of Information Communication Technology.
Savanna Signature (SavSign) a Non-Governmental Organization operating in the northern and Volta regions has developed keen interest in the empowerment of youth and women through education. This is done mainly through and with the use of Information and Communication Technologies.
