A/R: Drug baroness busted with 500 wraps of cocaine

The Ashanti Regional Police Drug Law Enforcement Unit has arrested a female narcotic drug dealer Martha Osei for carrying 500 parcels of foil suspected to be cocaine in the regional capital Kumasi.

According to the Unit Commander ASP Jeremiah Alale the suspect was arrested on Sunday March 27th, Resurrection Sunday.

The middle aged woman was picked up while boarding a commercial vehicle at the Bekwai roundabout on her way to her clients’ mainly galamsey operators in Manso.

Speaking to Ultimate News’ Isaac Justice Badiako, ASP Jeremiah Alale revealed that his outfit had been monitoring the baroness for the past four months before her final arrest.

“We spotted her on a Manso bound 207 Benze bus. She probably came to get these drugs in town and then boarded the vehicle on a return. Our intelligence led us to intercept that bus and have her arrested,” ASP Alale recounted.

He further disclosed that the baroness has for reasons best known to her insisted she was just 25 years old even though her looks suggest a 50- year old woman.

ASP Alale implored the public to complement the efforts of the police by providing the unit with leads to arrest and prosecute drug peddlers.

He stressed that arresting these barons had reaching impact on curbing violent crime committed under the influence of narcotic substances.
