Taxi driver convicted for reckless overtaking

A Dunkwa Magistrate Court has sentenced a 25-year old taxi driver Richard Oboh to a day’s imprisonment for reckless overtaking at a hilltop in Dunkwa of the Central Region.

He has been asked to pay in addition a cash sum of GHC600, in default of the payment, he will serve two months in jail.

According to the Prosecutor Chief Inspector Emmanuel Asante, the accused was arrested by the police when he recklessly and wrongfully overtook a vehicle ahead of him on a hill with his Kia pride.

A Freelance Journalist in the area, Gabriel Bediako explained that the accused pleaded guilty to the offence and the court presided over by His Worship Faestus Fovi Nukunu convicted him accordingly.

The Judge cautioned drivers to obey traffic rules and regulations in order to reduce road accidents on roads.
