The Ashanti Regional police command has arrested a man in his early 30s at Kronom, a suburb of Kumasi in possession of military body amour, a set of military uniforms and a cash of GH¢ 400.00.

The suspect Roland Asirifi was arrested in his room during a police swoop in the area upon tip-off.

The latest arrest comes on the back of recent robbery attacks in the Kumasi metropolis where residents have complained of being under siege.

Asirifi was arrested with other suspects including Adu Gyamfi aka Ice, Kofi Agyamang alias Gibir and Adu Sarfo alias Kombian at Kronom and Kwadaso respectively.

According to Superintendent Ameyaw Adani in charge of the Anti-robbery squad of the Ghana police service, the suspect’s mobile phone also had a photograph of a foreign made pistol.

‘When he was asked how he had the photograph on his phone, he told us that he took the photograph from Adu Gyamfi’s mobile phone.  He led us Adu Gyamfi’s house and a search conducted in his room also revealed some stolen items including  one Samsung mobile phone, an iphone, axe, hood and a long cutlass also known in our local language as “langlanga,’ the policeman revealed.

Thorough search in the room of the third suspect Kofi Agyemang revealed one Infinix x600 mobile phone.
