Woman Nearly Lost Life after Husband went on attacking spree at hospital in Salaga

A Pregnant woman nearly suffered abdominal complications at the Salaga Government hospital on Thursday night after her husband violently attacked and assaulted a medical Superintendent at the hospital Dr. Sheriff Abdul Halik.

The Man identified only as Hafiz, 34, from Kumidi a community in the Kpandai district is the husband to the client and had brought her to the hospital for treatment.

Sources at the hospital told Ultimate News the man came with the heavily pregnant woman and was immediately led to a consulting room, but after seeing a doctor he left his mobile phone on a desk in the consulting room.

The sources added, Hafiz got irked when the hospital administrator demanded why he left the gadget in the room.

A sudden confusion ensued and Hafiz allegedly held the neck of the administrator and served him with strokes of slaps in the face.

Doctors angered by the incident halted the operation they were carrying on the pregnant woman which nearly caused the complications.

Ultimate News checks however revealed  that necessary and needed attention was later given the woman who is now said to be in stable condition after a group of health officials who had struggled to rescue the doctor pleaded on behalf of the dying woman.

Confirming to Ultimate News, the Salaga district Police commander, DSP Alhaji Amenu said the man brought his wife to the hospital and without any provocation attacked the doctor and manhandled him.

He said medical officers telephoned the police and the man was quickly arrested.

DSP Amenu said Hafiz was arraigned before court on Friday for assault and he has been remanded into police custody and would reappear on July 7, 2016.
