The Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP) has suspended its General Secretary Nii Armah Akonfra and Youth Organiser Ernesto Yeboah over President Mahama ford expedition brouhaha.
Reports indicate that the executives of the party want to protect the party’s image ahead of the November general elections.
The duo have in recent times have hit hard at the president over the ford expedition gift by the Burkinabe contractor.
Ernesto Yeboah and some CPP members petitioned the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) demanding investigations into the gift to President John Mahama.
The party executives believe Yeboah refused to consult them on the matter before sending the petition.
During the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) presidential encounter, the Flagbearer of the CPP, Ivor Green Street disclosed that ‘he could be suspended for acting alone’.
