The Ashanti Regional Minister Alexander Ackon has warned that phony Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) who are envisaging violence ahead of the polls in order to take undue advantage of the situation will be shamed.
According to him, a number of these NGOs and groups are busily organizing peace walks making it sound as though the polls is all about violence.
He assured that the country will not record any causalities and therefore warned war mongers to be mindful of their conduct which is a recipe for violence.
According to him, Ghana’s democracy has grown to the extent that people are able to tolerate the views of their opponents.
‘I have been speaking against all the peace walks, those who want to take advantage are saying peace for this, peace for that, if we are getting to three months to elections and we are still not fighting, don’t you think God has done enough for us already, why are we behaving as if people are going to die, from 1992 is that what we have been doing, we shan’t die,’ he assured.
