The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will begin a nationwide vote transfer commencing tomorrow Monday August 15, 2016 and end on Friday August 19, 2016.
In a release signed by head of communications Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, it revealed that it will on the stated date; begin receiving applications for Vote Transfer from persons who wish to contest this year’s general elections as Presidential or Parliamentary candidates.
It therefore urged candidates who wish to transfer their votes from the polling station where they registered to a different polling station, to visit the District Office of the Commission in the Constituency where they wish to vote, to complete the vote transfer application form to be processed for the transfer.
According to the EC, a person seeking vote transfer must be; registered voter, be resident in the Constituency other than that in which he/she registered for not less than 12 months and Should provide physical proof of his/her new residence, including the residential address.
It added that successful voters shall be assigned to a new polling station in his/her new Constituency of residence.
