The woes of the controversial man of God and Founder of International God’s Way church Bishop Daniel Obinim are far from over.
Barely a week after he was detained for two days in police cell for alleged fraud, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is hauling him before court for illegal connection on Saturday, September 3 Saturday, September 3, 2016.
He reportedly owed the company to the tune of GH¢27,000 and was blocked for nonpayment of bills.
Bishop Obimin illegally fixed three post-paid meters at his residence; guest house and television station OB TV within the period of the blockage.
Loss Control Coordinator at the Accra East regional office of the ECG Jonathan Asante, revealed that between March and August this year alone, he owed a total of GH¢217,000 being accumulated bills from the new post-paid meters illegally fixed.
“When you even pay, that is a recovery of the debt. The crime itself and punishment comes with the law. So, paying the debt does not offset you from the criminal aspect of the issue.”
