Officials of the Progressive People’s Party (CPP) have made a dramatic turn by fling their presidential nomination forms and paying the filing fee of GH¢10,000 to the Electoral Commission (EC).
The party has secured an injunction restraining the EC from collecting the fee, describing it as ‘exorbitant charge’.
The EC yesterday rejected the filing fee of the presidential nominees of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama and others over the PPP law suit.
But this morning, officials at the EC were in in a state of awe when the National Chairman of the PPP, Nii Allotey Brew Hammond and National Treasurer Mr. Felix Ograh filed the nomination and paid the fee on behalf of their flagbearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.
The EC refused to return the money to Mr. Hammond when he was reminded about the implications of his action, when he attempted collecting the money back.
