The Ultimate Breakfast Show crew as part of efforts in creating the platform for candidates to unveil their vision to constituents in areas they seek to represent as legislators, is currently stationed at Jachie-Pramso in the Bosomtwe constituency of the Ashanti Region with its ‘Kumasi Speaks’ project.
Candidates are being scrutinized and asked probing questions on how they will deal with teething problems affecting residents if mandated at the December 7 polls.
The outreach programme also forms part of EIB Election Hub, where election related issues are dissected.
Simon Osei-Mensah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency.
In the 2012 election the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo garnered 40,618 representing 77.84% and the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) John Dramani Mahama garnered 11,239 votes representing 21.54% in the parliamentary primaries of the same year.
NPP’s Simon Osei-Mensah garnered 34,790 votes representing 66.56% and the NDC’s Dr. Joe Oteng- Adjei garnered 17,235 votes representing 32.97%.
Osei-Mensah lost the primaries to Dr. Osei Adu Twum who will be contesting in the elections on the ticket of NPP.
