All parliamentary aspirants contesting on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 8 Gonja constituencies of the Northern region are already members of the legislature according to Deputy Minister of Power, John Abudulai Jinapor.
He is optimistic no amount of machinations can stop all eight including himself from representing their respective constituencies after the December 7 polls.
“I wish to state here and now that no amount of plans and schemes can prevent the eight of us from entering parliament in 2017. We are already in parliament that is why you will have to vote for us including Alhaji Yussif Sulemana alias Ori to be part of the victorious team”, he stated.
Addressing party supporters at Bole during the constituency campaign launch over the weekend, he described all 8 as ‘John Mahama action boys’ who are fired up to consolidate the already good works of President John Dramani Mahama.
“We will win this election and there is no doubt about that. Let us eschew politics of insults and focus on propagating government policies and programmes to outdo the lies being propagated by the opposition New Patriotic Party”, he emphasized.
On his part, the Northern Regional Chairman of the NDC Sofo Awudu Azorka predicted 85% win for the NDC in the region observing that residents will ensure this does not become a mirage considering how the president has fared in terms of development.
He stated that the NDC has always beaten the NPP in every election in the region indicating that the December 7 election is not an exception.
“Even in opposition we beat them and shall surely beat them this time as a ruling government but by a wider margin”, he added.
