The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Nhyiaeso constituency Kennedy Kankam has promised to solicit for funds to support the police construct hospital to improve healthcare delivery in the constituency when voted into power.
He pledged to liaise with individuals and corporate bodies in the constituency to assist the police build the State- of- the- art hospital which is currently under construction.
‘The Ashanti regional police command has started putting up police hospital, when I win power, I will seek for sponsorship from companies and individuals to support them to continue with the facility which is on-going just like the one we have in Accra. This will enable people access quality health care delivery,’ he promised.
Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he bemoaned the inaccessibility of quality healthcare in the constituency.
He wondered why government could not set up National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS) sub-metro office in the area, adding that it could have created jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
‘The constituency lacks NHIS sub-metro office or CHIPs compounds, the closest is Asokwa, Adum or Bantama. The aged who want to register or renew their cards have to be aided before they go to these various centers,’ he said.
Mr Kankam called on the electorate to vote massively for him to win power in the December polls to improve the living conditions of the constituents adding that he will restructure schools under trees in the area.
‘We will do away with school under trees in Nhyiaeso constituency, there is no government school in Anyinam-otengnkwanta stretch, the only government school is at Jericho where pupils study under trees. The tree also died off, now pupils study at a rented uncompleted house, and the rest study at bamboo made like structure. I am pleading with you to vote for me to restructure the school to relieve pupils of the dangers they are exposed to,’ he stated.
