NPP must apologise for hooting at Prez Mahama-AYA

The Asante Youth Association (AYA) in Kumasi of the Ashanti region has registered their displeasure with party supporters who hooted and cast aspersions at President John Dramani Mahama at the one week observation of the late Asantehemaa Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem II on November 24, 2016.

The group claims its investigations point to the (New Patriotic Party) as the culprits.

The group has described the act as disrespect to the Manhyia Royal family, the Asante culture and the bereaved Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Addressing a news Conference in Kumasi, Vice President of the Association Dr. Ronald Ofori warned that they will not countenance such acts in the region.

Ultimate news’ Isaac Bediako reported that they are demanding the leadership of the NPP to render an unqualified apology to the Asantehene and President Mahama for the humiliation.

But a leading member of the opposition NPP Maxwell Kofi Jumah has rubbished the accusation describing it baseless.

The former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asokwa constituency insists the party cannot be linked to a spontaneous crowd action and that the party owes the Association or the Asanteman no apologies.
