The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), will hold its final rally at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre in Accra today, Sunday December 4, ahead of the national election on Wednesday, December 7.
The event which starts at 10:00am is expected to attrack thousands of party supporters from all over the country, and will be addressed by the party’s Flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo and other leading members of the NPP.
The mammoth rally is intended to invigorate party members ahead of the crucial election which political watchers say is a contest between the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Though the Electoral Commission has given special voters who could not cast their ballot another opportunity to vote today, the NPP believes its rally will not be disrupted by the exercise.
The largest opposition NPP believes it has better policies to enhance the living conditions of Ghanaians and has vowed to wrestle power from the Mahama-led administration which is has described as incompetent come election day.
Meanwhile, the ruling NDC party will hold its rally at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, which the party expects its members from various regions to attend the event.
The rally will bring to a close the party’s campaign activities towards the December 7 polls.
