Figures gathered by EIB’s Election Hub indicate that the Presidential nominee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is leading the polls.
Nana who is likely to be Ghana’s next President has so far polled 4,612,870 votes representing 54.13% from 214 out of the 275 constituencies.
The President John Dramani Mahama has about 3,765,537 representing 44.8% of the total votes.
The NPP has so far grabbed 111 seats in Parliament with the NDC at 59 from the results obtained so far.
The Electoral Commission (EC) is expected to declare its official results on Friday.
Both parties have declared victory but the EC has called on them to exercise restraint as they collate all the results.
The National Peace Council has however called on the EC to “expedite the process” in declaring results to calm nerves.
