First Allied Savings and Loans donates to Kumasi Central Prison

First Allied Savings and Loans Company Limited, has presented assorted food items in excess of GH¢20,000 to inmates of the Kumasi Central Prison as part of the Christmas celebrations.

The items included bags of rice, maize, gallons of cooking oil, sanitary products, yam, garden eggs, bags of sachet water,  washing detergents,  and plantain .

The gesture is part of activities climaxing the 20 years anniversary of the financial institution which began operations in 1996 and also interact with the inmates and officers.

Presenting the items, the Head of Administration and Human Resource Manager; First Allied Savings and Loans Company Limited Augustine Amarchie Ansah, said the company was touched by the plight of their compatriots who had found themselves at the wrong side of the law.

He also noted that, it was a moment to spend time with the inmates of the prison and also fulfil a cooperate social responsibility by bringing smiles to the face of the inmates during a festive season such as Christmas.

Chief Superintendent Yayera Ashong Mettle, 2IC of the female Prison,   who received the items, commended the effort of the financial institutions for supporting the inmates and promised to use the items for its intended purpose.

She appealed to other institutions to come to their aid.

Staff of First Allied Savings and Loans Company Limited used the opportunity to encourage the inmates not give up on life but keep their dreams and aspirations high.

Special prayers were said for both the prison officers and inmate.
