The Kwarbeng District Magistrate Court on Monday remanded into Police Custody, Kwadwo Emmanuel a private security man at Kate Mining Company for allegedly gunning down a 15-year old JHS pupil Osei Jester.
The case has been adjourned to January 17, 2017 to enable police conduct further investigations to aid prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Police has retrieved the single barrel gun (licensed) used to commit the act as an exhibit.
As reported earlier by Ultimate News’ Kojo Ansah, the incident occurred on Thursday, where the Kwarbeng District Police Commander DSP John Yeboah narrated that on December 5, police had information at 12:pm about the shooting incident.
‘Police quickly rushed to the scene and found the body of Jester Osei lying in a pool of blood. Information gathered indicates that the 15-year old pupil of Kwarbeng Presby JHS went to the site to collect suspected pay dirt gravel to wash to check if he will get some gold but the watchman at the mining company, Kwadwo Emmanuel shot the boy without provocation killing him instantly,’ he explained.
DSP John Yeboah explains that, the body of the deceased has been deposited at Kibi Government hospital awaiting autopsy.
Meanwhile, the security man has been arrested and will be remanded in police custody on Monday.
