Another take over of toll booth hits Central Region

Aggrieved persons believed to be supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NPP) have attacked toll booth attendants at the Moree junction in the Abura-Aseibu Kwamankese district of the  Central Region.

The angry youth according to eye witnesses and supervisors, attempted to take over the management of the facility and in the process made away with some money and tickets running into several thousands of Ghana cedis.

Additional revenue was also lost as drivers had a field day with the gates left opened with the supervisors and attendants fleeing to prevent further assault by the rampaging youth.

The attack happens to be the second in the central region following a similar attempt by the some youth of the party in the Assin Praso area to take over operation of the toll booth in the area.

They justified their actions in an interview with Ultimate News’ Regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour, indicating that  they suffered similar fate in the year 2009 when National Democratic Congress (NDC) assumed leadership of this country and that NDC toll both attendants should also give way to them once their party has lost power.
