ER: Quack Abortion Doctor in Suhum on the Run

Police in Suhum in the Eastern region are on a hunt for a quack medical doctor on the run for practicing without the requisite professional qualification and certification.

The quack Doctor, who has only been identified as David, is reported to be specialized in conducting unsafe abortions but escaped arrest last Friday when personnel of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit closed up on him.

According to reports, he and other staff of his illegal clinic had wind of the arrest and fled before the police team arrived

 Public Relations Officer of the Eastern regional Police Command, ASP Nketia Yeboah disclosed to GHOne News that efforts are being made to arrest the Quack Doctor and his accomplices from their hide out.

EIB’s Eastern  Regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah who uncovered the illegal operations of the quack doctor ,after  investigations reports that ,the quack abortion Doctor was  a Health extension officer  with the  Youth Employment Agency but later secured a  job with  Rev.Bidi -S Memorial Hospital  popularly known as Setsoafia Clinic in Suhum as a ward assistant but was dismissed by the Hospital almost a year ago over misconduct .

The Medical Director of Rev.Bidi -S Memorial Hospital, Dr.Dik Setsoafia revealed that  , he  was severally informed about the illegal operations of the  quack Doctor from  the grapevine.

The illegal abortion clinic operating by the quack abortion Doctor is located  a few meters from the Private Hospital  where he used to work.

The Quack abortion Doctor claims his facility is an extension of Dr.Setsoafia’s Hospital hence able to get many clients to his facility.

Dr.Dik Setsoafia has however  refuted the claims.

The lives of several young ladies in Suhum municipality and its environs are in danger following the unprofessional services rendered by the quack abortion doctor and his team.

The quack doctor is said to charge low fee for abortion hence the high patronage.
