Mahama sacks party executive over campaign cash claims

The 2016 Flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Dr Edward Nasigrie Mahama has dismissed the Deputy General secretary of the party Mohammed Haruna for accusing him of divertinng party funds to purchase treasury bills.

In a statement signed by Dr Mahama, he denied ever having any treasury bill account in his name.

The leader of the party bemoaned the fact that the deputy general secretary of the party further reported the National Treasurer Akane Adams to the police for stealing monies from the party without informing the leadership of the party.

A situation he described as an embarrassment to his personality.

Haruna’s dismissal takes effect January 24, 2017.
