The queen mother Naa Kookoi Dugbatey ll and elders of Kwabenya in the Greater Accra are appealing to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo to ensure that the indiscriminate sale of lands at Kwabenya is halted.
They are accusing the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission of compulsorily, acquiring the Kwabenya lands and selling to private developers and churches.
They alleged that the Commission sell the lands without any consultation with the custodians of the lands.
The traditional rulers cited the latest sale of the Accra Hearts of Oak park near the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum as an example.
The youth in the area clad in red were spotted carrying placards some of which read ‘Stop stealing our lands, give back our lands now, Kwabenya youth demand their lands and others’.
