Amewu apologises to Rawlings over ‘false’ claims

The Minister-designate for Lands and Forestry John Peter Amewu has rendered an unqualified apology to the former President Jerry John Rawlings over some false claims he made against the latter.

The former Volta regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is reported to have said Mr Rawlings personally supported the party to win the December 7 polls, especially in the Volta Region.

The Former President who denied the claim demanded apology from Mr Amewu.

During his turn on the vetting committee, the Volta regional chairman of NPP, apologised to the former President over the fracas that ensued between them.

“Mr Chairman let me use this opportunity to render unqualified apology to His Excellency President Jerry John Rawlings. Processes are on course to apologise to him. I will take the necessary measures to apologise to him but I never said he called me personally,’ he apologised.
