NPP ‘thugs’ attack gov’t agencies, beat up workers in Tamale

About 30 muscled members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) called ‘Kandahar boys’ in the Northern regional capital, Tamale have locked up some government agencies after beating the workers.

The boys locked up the offices of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and the Youth Employment Authority (YEA) in Sagnarigu claiming it is their time to enjoy because their government is in power.

The only police officer at the NHIS office was overpowered by the Kandahar boys leading to workers and clients fleeing the area, Ultimate news’ Northern regional correspondent, Eliasu Tanko reported.

Workers of the various agencies admitted to Ultimate News that they heard rumours on Thursday that the thugs will attack them on Friday but treated it as mere rumour.

All the offices attacked by the boys have been locked out.
