The minister of energy Boakye Agyarko is expected to face the ad hoc parliamentary bribery scandal committee chaired by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan constituency Joe Ghartey on Friday February 17, 2017.
Mr Agyarko is reported to have bribed some members on the Appointments Committee of Parliaments through the Chairman Joe Osei-Owusu prior to his approval after going through the vetting weeks ago.
The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central Mahama Ayariga who levelled the allegations insists the chairman gave each member GHC3,000 just to approve Mr Agyarko’s nomination.
But appearing before the bribery committee on Wednesday, Mr Osei-Owusu debunked the allegation saying it was cooked up by the minority to defame him.
According to media reports Mr Agyarko has also denied ever paying bribes to members.
Meanwhile Okudzeto Ablakwa who is part of the crusaders, is begging the committee to allow him testify else he will go to court to seek reversal of decision.
Other witnesses scheduled to testify today include Mr Ayariga and Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka MP for Asawase constituency.
