Authorities at the Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School (SHS) in the Central Region are complaining about bedbug invasion in the school.
The bedbugs, they explained impede academic work as students are denied good sleep in the night to be able to focus in class when teaching is ongoing.
Speaking in Cape Coast on the occasion of the schools annual celebrations, headmaster of the school, Rev. Franklin Buadu indicated that the school is getting frustrated with the menace as earlier attempts to root it out of the campus didn’t yield lasting results.
Ultimate news’ Kwaku Baah Acheamfuor reported that the headmaster suspects some of the students might have directly transported the insects from their various homes because they had fumigated the school in the previous academic year.
The headmaster called on health experts and corporate bodies to help deal with the bedbug invasion in order not to hamper students’ health which will in turn affect their studies.
‘We are unable to sleep in the night, even day time, the bedbugs will be biting us, school management should do something it,’ some of the students complained.
