National Cathedral board inaugurated

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo has inaugurated the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral Project charging them to deliver a formal monumental cathedral for the nation.

Addressing the group of Clergy men and women, the President identified three main areas that the board will be focusing on.

They are to agree on the design of the project, supervising the construction and more importantly raising the funds for the project.

The National Cathedral is one of the several legacy projects of the Ghana 60 years on anniversary celebration.

President Akufo Addo charged the, clergywomen and the church in Ghana to support the building of a national cathedral for the country.

The clergy team will also be responsible for management of the facility once completed.

The President was hopeful that the project will be completed in record time.

The board of trustees comprise: the chairman, Most Reverend Asante Antwi and his assistant, Archbishop Charles Plamer Buckle, Prophet Kusi Boateng will be the secretary to the board.

The rest of the members are, Apostle Opoku Onyinah, Rev. Joyce Agree, Presbyterian Moderator, Cephas Amenyo, Rt. Rev. Offei Akrofi, Archbishop Nicholas Duncun Williams, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, Bishop Dag Herward Mills, Pastor Mensa Otabil, Rev Dr. Frimpong Manso and former Moderator of the Presbyterian church, Prof. Emmanuel Martey.

In a response on behalf of the Board, the Chairman Rt. Rev. Asante Antwi said he and his team are in a hurry just like he disclosed in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) to deliver the project for the people of Ghana.

He assured the President that he and his board will get to work immediately.
