Ambulance accident has no connection with Kintampo disaster-Kintampo Hospital

Management of Kintampo Government Hospital has dispelled claims that an accident which occurred at Dwenewoho near Kintampo has connection with the Kintampo waterfalls disaster.

It was reported that injured persons who were been transferred from the hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) were involved in an accident.

According to the hospital’s authorities, an accident involving an ambulance with the registration number GV 375-12 occurred in the area but has no correlation with the injured persons involved in the disaster.

The Medical Superintendent at the hospital Dr Garvin Apio confirmed that the driver of the ambulance who was transporting a patient to KATH died.

According to authorities, the ambulance was indeed on its way to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi with a patient before the incident occurred.

‘The Ambulance driver attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of him but collided with a stationary vehicle and another vehicle smashed it,’ he explained.
